Supporting School MFL Departments with Inspiring Careers Talks

Sanako UK would like to highlight the ongoing efforts of David Binns, Director of Sanako UK, in promoting the importance of language skills to students for their future careers.

Our own data and feedback demonstrates the huge success of these initiatives, with a significant increase in the number of students choosing to study languages, but what about direct feedback from schools & pupils?

Following recent talks at a Multi Academy Trust in the Midlands as part of a languages careers day, MFL teachers conducted student polls to gauge the immediate effect on students' perceptions of languages in their future careers. While not all results are available yet, the initial feedback is very encouraging as you can see below.

Question - What was your favourite activity of the day?

Question - do you feel more likely to choose a language after the MFL day?

While Sanako UK doesn't claim to be the sole solution to the declining number of students choosing languages at the GCSE level, we are confident that we are making a significant contribution to improving this.

If students don't opt for a language in school, they are far less likely to choose one at university. By utilising the latest MFL technology, such as the Sanako Connect Online MFL system, schools and universities can collaborate more effectively to make language learning engaging and enjoyable for all students at all levels.

Implementing such modern technology across all areas of education can revolutionise MFL teaching and learning, creating a cohesive approach to language education.
